Why All the Angst?

2009 May 22

One thing about being a Taylor Hicks fan that I have found very difficult at times is all of the angst and whining over every little thing.  You know the old saying  with fans like that who needs enemies..or something to that effect anyway. I think some people should just learn not to take things so seriously.  Maybe there are some people would benefit dearly if they only would step away from their computers for a few days, weeks, hell maybe a year or two wouldn’t hurt some of these people, lets be honest. I for one and more than a little fed up with all the negativity surrounding Taylor..and the most surprising part is that it seems that people gravitate toward this stuff like flies on poo.

A little laughter may be what the Soul Patrol needs right now to keep our sanity with all the hatred around.

This is interesting. I guess this is a blog Clay Aiken wrote. I guess he’s not and Adam Lambert Fan.

    .

“Now that it’s all over, and for the record…. I couldn’t be happier about the way AI ended this year. I only turn the show on once a season, and only to see what the set looks like each year. This year, I happened to turn it during the minute that Adam Lambert was singing ‘Ring of Fire’ and, at that moment, thought my ears would bleed. Contrived, awful, and slightly frightening! I wasn’t really a fan and found myself surprised whenever folks told me that they liked him. Granted, I never saw another performance (and many folks who I trust said that he was great) but I can’t imagine I would have enjoyed it. Just not my cup of tea at all. To each his own. I never saw Kris sing on the show, but whether he was good or not is really relative. It’s usually a matter of taste, right? But Idol is not always a matter of musical taste only. It’s about the person you like. From what little I saw, Kris seemed likable. (That’s not to say that Adam isn’t just as likable as anyone.. maybe more so… I don’t know) When Ruben and I were standing next to each other every night (many years ago) you had two equally talented, equally unlikely, equally unpolished contestants…. so it really was a matter of taste as to who was voted for. While some may argue that one of us was hyped more than the other, I don’t feel that was the case. However, this year, there was an obvious bias. Not even having watched the show, I can tell you that I was WELL aware of the bias from the judges as to who should win. In my opinion, that is awfully unattractive. I don’t think I am alone.”

Here’s the latest. I found it on Clay’s blog.

    Wow! Such influence! ha ha

Who knew I had so much influence and that my words and opinion mattered so much to so many people!?!?! HA HA HA I’ll be the first to admit that my opinion is just that, only my opinion, but for as much as some of the bloggers seem to dislike me and care so little about my thoughts, they sure can waste a lot of their space on what I say! If only many of them took the time to pay attention to important things like the US economy and the welfare of the world’s children. But… nah… I could blog about that type of stuff anytime and most wouldn’t think twice, but let me say something that they can pick and choose quotes and misinterpret me… and it’s showtime! I never assumed my opinion mattered so much! I guess I may have been wrong.

That said, since my previous blog got dissected like a biology lab frog, i suppose I should clarify and even retract some of what I wrote.

I am sure that some were upset by my choice of words describing my opinion of a performance I heard from Adam Lambert. I hope no one actually believed that blood truly poured forth from my ears when I heard him. I obviously meant it as a colorful statement to imply that I did not enjoy what I heard. Any performer hopes that their music will appeal to all people, but no singer realistically expects it to. God knows, I am SURE there are PLENTY of people who can’t stand to hear me sing either. I wouldn’t dream of assuming that, and I am sure that far worse things have been said about my performances than I would even venture to type here. To me, that’s fine. I don’t expect unanimous, nor even majority support for my music. But, my guess is Adam doesn’t either. I would not venture to make judgements on the personality or demeanor of anyone I don’t know, so none of what I said in my previous blog was directed as a “slam” on Adam as a person. At the same time, I wouldn’t dream of slamming him as an entertainer. He does what he does, because he enjoys it, and he obviously has many fans who enjoy it as well. If what i said in my previous blog regarding my impression of a single performance from Adam upset or offended any of his fans, I expect that the mature ones will realize that it was simply a poorly worded metaphor describing my personal tastes. The only person I would really dream of apologizing to is Adam. And the irony is, if he’s smart he couldn’t give a crap what I think of his Ring of Fire performance. As an entertainer, Adam knows that one person’s opinion of one performance really matters a little less than zero, in the grand scheme of things. He could not have gotten on Idol (nor made it as far as he did) without an immense amount of talent. He surely doesn’t need my approval to know he has a gift. At the same time, he realizes that amazing talent doesn’t always equal universal appeal. (I could NEVER have the amount of skill and talent that ballet dancers have! that’s talent! But, I don’t particularly enjoy it!) I am sure that I will have plenty of opportunities in the coming years to hear Adam sing. I imagine he’ll be around for years to come. But in the meantime, I definitely don’t want to stoop to the level of so many negative freaks on the internet… so, I do apologize to Adam for my colorful (and negative) choice of words. I hope he can forgive me. I imagine he doesn’t give a damn! :-) God knows he shouldn’t. :-)

    ——————————————————————————–

Now, for those of you who are able to comment on this…. lets take bets as to which bits and pieces of this blog will end up mass distributed. Be creative…. they don’t seem to care about punctuation or whether or not they use all of the words in a sentence… so, have fun…. ;-)

WOW…………What a cute kitty and doggy…I love the huggy huggy…so precious. The neighbor one…well, I need that topiary…as the WIFE is so snooty…as her hubby enjoys a nice conversation with me. HAHA…he is an airline pilot and IF he were single? Hubba Bubba…but, I would never…ok…take that back…I do flirt a bit. LOL! So…the topiary would be for her. :) She called at 3am once and said my daughter’s dog was barking and keeping her awake. The dog was inside. I had a house full…woke everyone up. What a biotch. Thanks for the laugh BHG…hee hee…

Jersey…I would have laughed had I seen that sign. Maybe it would help road rage.

Well well…Clay is getting slammed. He has a magnificent voice…no doubt about that. I said that I think they screwed with the votes that year. However, Ruben was a nice man. He was so out of breath from being so overweight…and sweating like a pig…that it turned me off. Nothing wrong with being chunky…no offense…but, hey…it distracted me. It obviously affected his ability as a singer. Back when Idol started…You had to do dance routines as well. Did anyone know that? Yep. He was frickin worn out. LOL!

I think it just goes to show that Clay is like all the rest…and I don’t like what I have heard about his private sexual adventures which seemed a bit rapish to me…however, I was not there…THANK GOD…but, other things…his arrogance and narcissistic attitude in public and on appearances…but, it does show…that Taylor is not the only one that gets crap. I do think Clay should have been more careful in his words since he actually was a runner up on Idol…and remain a bit more supportive no matter what he thought. But…this shows that celebs get critiqued all the time…they are waiting behind the bushes…around the corner…just ready to spring into action to “in Clay’s words” diasect every little thing…and of course, we know they twist things beyond measure.

Hey folks…maybe there are just so many twisted people out there…that this world is getting so bad…that evil is becoming the dominant trait…and that the love of many are waxing cold. It is a sad world that we live in. We STILL have so much to be thankful for…there is always someone that has it worse than you do…all you have to do is look around. I think that is why those of us that want to hear GOOD things about Taylor, because we truly…find that we are not opinionated about anything that he does other than loving it…liking it…or if it is something that we, ourselves would have done differently…then, we don’t even think about it…cause it is not OUR lives…not OUR business. We just support. I love that about this blog.

Those that want to control someone else? Well…they have a problem. Control freaks are sometimes even dangerous. I hated it when Taylor realized early on during a time when he should have been elevated beyond measure with exuberance…that there was such a dark side out there…and that his bubble was bursted. I am sure he had been around the block plenty and was in the scene for many years…but, not with this kind of fame and the negative that comes with it. Look at what is happening to one of the finest little actresses and her actor husband…about the twin issues and the surrogate mother being threatened. I mean…what is up with the lack of respect for others lives…and why is there no line anymore…??? Seems they crossed that line…cause it is not invisible.

CBB..she called you because the dog was barking inside the house? That’s ridiculous! Sounds like a jealous thing for sure.

I think Clay would have done well to keep his mouth shut about it all too. He had to know what would happen when he said something like that. Maybe he’s also fed up with TPTB and wanted to stir the pot a bit. He’s got guts..that’s for sure.

BHG, CBB, Just read an article in my paper about the whole Clay thing, not good for him at all, folks were not happy with what he wrote. He is entitled to his opinion, but being who he is and where he started he should have thought his words out more carefully.

Yep…Clay started what will continue to avalanche into a bitter war. That’s ok with me…maybe it will take the heat off Taylor, the heat that he never deserved. Maybe the hot heads over on that trash blog will fill their empty little lives with contempt over it all. I just don’t go there and look. Maybe I will…maybe not. LOL!

Clay may have a great voice…but he is a flamer. He has been overboard in his actions on many occasions. Had he had any class…he would have just stated whom he liked or if he liked no one…he could have said he did not have a favorite. Simple…but, hey, he could be doing this to get his name back out there…but, honestly, he seems to be out of control most of the time. I think he was in the closet so long…that he went nuts. LOL!

    Happy Sunday Girls,
I’m glad CBB commented about the odd comments from CLAY. Why? Well, because as I’ve said here and on another favorite blog, CBB is the only person I know who was dedicated, knowledgeable and who watched American Idol from the VERY beginning. I knew nothing about American Idol and didn’t want to either, LOL. It was CBB who finally talked me into it when Season Five began…and NOW look, LOL. However, I’ve not watched since because of the bias, discrimination and disrespect that American Idol showed its Seaons Five winner, TAYLOR and his fans, US. I must say too, anything about that show you need to know, CBB knows it. :)

I think Clay has a awesome voice. He has charisma, but I have seen him in concert in video’s and he was dull. I guess what I am saying is that his voice is splendid and he looks good, until he talks, SORRY…just the way I see it. He is a drama queen and I daresay that Adam IS or will be too. This should be very interesting. Clay’s behavior has been anything but “IDOL” and he is not alone either. I think we know who they are? A bald screamer for one? LMAO.

Taylor on the otherhand had ALWAYS been the same…A nice guy, a man whose appreciative, an entertainer who has such a versatile career and yet he is SLAMMED by the press and people who profess to BE his fans. They are NOT his fans. They are women and some men who are pissed off that he does not do what they want or to BE what they want. For the life of me, I cannot understand their behavior.

I think with the Internet, apparently so called writers for publications all mimic one another, they REPEAT purported “news” OVER and over and aover and its FALSE. This is WHY Taylor gets such a bad wrap. Its this opinion or statement, that a “career” consists of ONLY selling CD’s is shocking to me. Its STUPIDITY, its NOT true.

A case in point is FORBES Money makers for American Idol. The articile clearly states for ONE year, that being 2008. We know for fact, that when Taylor Hicks signed for his book deal, it was reported to be – $750,000 – THAT in itself would be? $400,000 MORE than the reported $300,000 that Forbes quoted, so go figure it girls. He got a purported ONE MILLION when he signed with Arista / J. Records – His shadow tour went to multiple cities and was the most successful EVER, even adding TWO concerts for the same city!! BECAUSE of Taylor Hicks!! IF you add the 1.5 MILLION dollars he made in barely 2 and 1/2 months of his FIRST solo tour…that is WAY above the $300,000 Forbes reported.

Did anyone notice that in the original Forbes article, they mentioned other aspects of endorcements for the OTHER Idols, (not Daughtry), and yet they failed to remark about Taylors? LMAO…WHY WAS THAT? I think maybe these things need to be made known for these people who proclaim their “writers’. That remains to be seen. Enjoy the holiday. :)

Those photos are VERY funny, LMAO. Love the one…”You’ll never get to work on time, HAHAHAHAH.”….LMAO. Way funny. Thanks for the humor.

Yes, I do think there’s much to much angst out there. OMG yes. I told Cbb abck during Season Five, how much fun all the IDOL stuff was when Taylor was on there…Now? Hm. Since I’ve seen the very bad side of Idol and people who love drama / angst even to the point of having BLOGS and websites so they can drive us crazy with it? Well…how sad for them. Life is SO short. I’m enjoying mine even if they sit all day and talk about how much they dislike everything about Taylor and his fans Add the mimic press to the downer / angst list. Its almost becoming as funny because its SO predictable… as the photos up above. ALMOST. :)

Jeanni, I have only seen Clay on TV for appearances, he does have a nice voice but no stage presence at all.

Life is too short to worry about the what if’s of Taylor’s career. He is on a steady course now, getting lots of good press, making money and having a whole lot of fun. What more can anyone ask of the man, just enjoy him and what he offers to his fans, don’t sit in judgement or try to tell him what he should be doing for ones own benefit, just enjoy the music whenhe presents it!!! :)

    Hersey,
From the beginning, I’ve known you would make a wonderful friend, even though we’ve all met on here and other favorite blogs, you have a wonderful attitude. Very thoughtful comments.

I only knew what Cbb had told me about Clay. I never watched AI, I did see him on TV from time to time and thought his voice was lovely.

To me, Taylor is a rarity, an entertainerl like him, only comes around once in a while. Usually, we hear the singer on the radio and from there, we find out more about them. I’ve been disappointed in the “radio” product, once he would be known…sometimes shockingly so. Ugh. I could listen to the singer, but not look at him! Just the truth, LOL.

HOWVER…that is the total opposite of Taylor Hicks. HE has it all. Looks, talent, charm, personality and musically gifted. He’s unique, he’s a throw back to what women want in a man, he’s funny…he’s just the greatest. I adore him, everything about him…He’s been such a pleasure. I respect him as a person and a talent..and this is why I can’t understand ALL the grief he gets from woman and some guys who claim to being a fan of his? Taylor has a fine career and like you said…he’s doing what he wants to do and that is HIS decision. I’ve enjoyed all aspects of it myself. :) BUT I am TRULY a fan, theres the difference. :)

My suggestion still stands. They need to FIND themselves someone who fits their idea of a singer and his career, cause its not Taylor…they really do need to just move on…hate that expression but it fits. :)

    Thanks girl…have a good Monday. :)

He’s either being loved on or he’s being slapped by AI, AI groupies who blog, AI so called writers, whomever thinks they know ALL about Taylor, when they know NOTHING about him. SO, what IS my point here, other than being sick of moronic writers using Taylor’s name to get hits?…See below…

This…THE latest one..Hahahahahahaha. They use TAYLOR to describe a good looking body guard of a realty star on TV whose purported to be having a fling and not with her husband. Jeanni, Thanks, I always felt welcomed here and consider everyone a friend also. I just don’t get all the angst over everything he does. They say they want to see him be successful yet when you offer something they can do like make requests for SMB which takes little time out of your day, they don’t want to be bothered. I really don’t listen that much to radio anymore certainly not country stations, but I am doing it to help him and am finding I like alot of what is played. So all of this has been a wonderful learning experience for me. Have been in e-mail with some of the DJ’s all have been pleasant and I will continue with those that still don’t have SMB on their playlist, once a week a quick e-mail to ask if they are anywhere near to playing the song. Taylor is considered new in the Country genre and it may take time for him to take off. If we as fans can’t help him get to where he wants to be then are we really fans? His misic brings so much joy to me doesn’t matter if he is singing BSDO, the anthem, or his own music his voice has that soothing effect on me.

Everyone have a safe Memorial Day. We are opening the pool today, it is filling now, hopefully by the days end it will be filled!!!

Here’s another blog entry I found interesting. I’m not sure I agree with 100% of her thoughts they are very interesting and make a lot of sense.

As is typical, Big Media would rather blow conversations completely out of proportion than offer anything insightful, as they did by citing Season 2 runner-up Clay Aiken, a gay Idol contestant who recently derided another gay Idol contestant, the newly appointed Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert whose singing made his “ears bleed.” Meanwhile, they missed the far more salient message of Clay’s blog, which is this:

The show was different [in the past], and folks made it in seasons 1-3 because they were “real” people who happened to sing/entertain well. But, somewhere along the way, AI stopped being about real people … Those votes for Kris were also votes to return the show to its roots of finding “real” contestants with undiscovered talent and giving them the chance to grow and shine… Enough with the pretention. More Rubens, more Clays, more Fantasias and Tamyras and Kellys please.

Sure, we can argue that Clay Aiken was being incredibly tacky – and dare I say, bitter much? – and even dismissive that, due to Adam’s flamboyant style and his often accused theatricality, somehow he doesn’t represent “real people.” But, honestly, Clay has a point. Having tuned in for Season 1’s finale, when Kelly Clarkson won (also having been privy to conversations about Tamyra Gray’s shocking boot) and regularly tuning in since the second season with Ruben, Clay, and Kimberly Locke, Clay is right. The show did stop focusing on finding “real” people with talent, who have an opportunity to grow and improve over the course of a season. It did become about gimmicks and favoritism and overly pimping said favorite to the detriment of others.

But, the way I see it, this is not about Adam being some “pretentious” and showy, gimmicky contestant, while Kris, as a “real” musician, quietly struggled in the shadows, ready to topple the presumed frontrunner. I cannot help but feel Adam was a set-up all along. So, rather than folks spend their precious Internet time debating whether or not Kris’s eventual win was based on homophobia, why are we not asking instead if the show’s over-the-top praise for a contestant like Adam Lambert is the guilty culprit? And I’m saying this in the context of Clay Aiken’s critique.

As someone who has been watching American Idol for the past 7 years, I believe the show stopped being about “real people” when Carrie Underwood appeared on the scene and, in the wake of winning Season 4, became a runaway platinum-selling country music artist. She was the game changer. Which isn’t to say “real people” don’t include very pretty blonds who sing beautifully, but her win and post-show success changed the show’s dynamics. From the moment she auditioned, Carrie Underwood was ready to be signed. Simon Cowell declared her that Season’s Idol winner during the auditions. Carrie didn’t need to compete for America to find her the best of the bunch. She didn’t need a “makeover,” like Ruben or Clay or Fantasia or Jennifer Hudson. She had the looks and the voice, and that was it. In short, she came to them already polished, which meant that – post Carrie Underwood – the show wasn’t going to try hard to make over anyone.

Following her season, they also found a polished performer, Chris Daughtry, who was “ready to be signed,” and they started pushing heavily for his win. But, Taylor Hicks happened, and unlike Chris, whose personality made him seem arrogant to many voters, Taylor was very entertaining and seemed more “real.” That’s how he won Season 5, but the show – already committed to their “frontrunner” – invested in Chris Daughtry’s post-show career, leaving Taylor Hicks to fend for himself. It wasn’t pretty. But that particular showdown between America’s choice and the producers’ choice set a distasteful precedent in the way the judges are consistently used to manipulate the show and position contestants to advance far into the show or to tank, and sometimes to get close enough to winning but eventually failing.
This happened to Melinda Doolittle, Season 6, who was clearly miles ahead of the pack with her professionally trained vocals as a back-up singer, but whose self-described “hot mess” fashion sense and shyness prevented her from making the finale (that, plus some horrendous song choices picked for her by the judges and producers). This happened to David Archuleta, Season 7, whose soulful, beautiful voice made him stand out very early but whose awkwardness and timidity at times got in the way (including hideous song choices selected for him during Top 3 week), and although he recouped himself in time for the finale, it kept him from grasping the brass ring at the end, compared to his competitor David Cook, whose better showmanship allowed him to prevail.

What happened to Melinda and David was a simple case of contestants with stellar vocals who needed help in other areas and whose flaws were not corrected but amplified by the show’s manipulations. Unfortunately, the judges were also too lazy to bother to help them improve because they were already committed to a specific script. Season 6 was all about how to get rid of Sanjaya Malakar, since he was clearly an audience favorite, despite the weak vocals, and once they got rid of him, they were stuck with: the runaway favorite (Melinda) looked too old. Let’s work with the other 17 year old, Jordin Sparks, who’s got a nice voice. She’s a worthy alternative. Season 7 was all about how to find a worthy competitor for David Archuleta, who was also an early crowd favorite. Cook emerged, and the eventual script was “Battle of the Davids”, and they did everything they could to prevent any other contestant from messing up that David squared finale.

And keep in mind, all these contestants since Carrie Underwood are still “real people.” What’s different is the way the show positions some of these contestants as if they were larger than life, the most spectacular thing to hit the stage, etc. The audience reactions, as a result, since they’re still stuck on the “ugly-duckling-turned-into-a-beautiful-swan” storyline begun since the beginning of the show, looked beyond the hubris and said,

“Yeah, Melinda’s a technically good singer. But she bores me.”

“David is too Disney. He’s good but he’s boring, and he looks like he’s 12!”

“Adam’s too theatrical. His screaming is just too much!”

See what I mean? Complete set-up. Because, these contestants are real people, and they were being hyped up to be something they were not. More than that, once the judges kept them in a box, they were not allowed to grow and transform. Beyond the lack of growth, other contestants, who are treated as also-rans, were prevented from advancing by receiving little constructive criticism or destructive criticism. And that’s the problem with the show. Before, it was a showcase of contestants as they were (i.e. nobody tried to correct Fantasia’s countrified dialect or hide that she was a teenage mother who dropped out of high school) eventually emerging as TV stars. Today, the show tried to hide that Kris Allen was married so his marital status didn’t interfere with the perception that he was an available potential heart throb. Meanwhile, Adam’s flash and standout performances led many in Big Media to speculate about his being gay.

And this is where the show’s homophobia comes in. Just as with “frontrunners” in the previous seasons, Adam didn’t get a lick of constructive criticism. Not once! He did his rock-glam, over-the-top performances, and all the judges did was praise him. Big Media chimed in too. We were supposed to believe he was the greatest contestant to hit the Idol stage. Yes, I was entertained by Adam, especially when his competition – outside of Allison Iraheta, someone with real potential who got mostly destructive criticism, as opposed to constructive criticism – bored me to tears. But, he didn’t come on the show hitting the ground running. He had an idea of performing flamboyant, rock glam, but much of it was too showy. Somebody like Adam should have been guided in the ways of 1)how to make it all seem like an individual style, rather than rock theater and 2)how to look like a regular guy with his own sense of performance style who had room to improve. He became a “gimmick.” And, worse, with the various “is he gay?” questions in the media, he became a gay caricature. As a judge or mentor, either you’re up to the task of transforming your amateur talents into real stars, or you’re not.

Time and again, the judges were too busy making witty and uninspired repetitive remarks, or they were too caught up in childish behavior (i.e. Simon drawing a crayon mustache on Paula’s face when they could have been instructing poor Allison, a young teenager with a gorgeous husky voice, how to make her performances more compelling). The criticism was unbelievably lazy, and the judges seemed bored. And because of their self-absorbed, foolish, foolish behavior, contestants like Adam Lambert skated by with little criticism while others were crushed, and worse, he is is left with the impression that he’s “the greatest contestant ever” with his shtick while never being called out on knowing the difference between rock music parody and crafting an individual style. Why do I call it homophobic? Because, there was an expectation that – if Adam is perceived as a gay contestant, simply because of his attempts at gender-bending – this is what a gay Idol would look and sound like. He was “different” in a way that gave the show buzz, and even with him eventually losing the title – after building up the expectation that no one else was worthy to win – that’s all anyone is talking about.

His “difference” also allowed for a backlash, and I will never not question whether or not the show had already built up this set-up for Adam to come oh-so-close but not winning because 1)not long before the finale, Bill O’Reilly (on the same Fox network, mind you) did a show about the “culture wars” as represented on American Idol with the final 2 contestants and 2) Entertainment Weekly featured Adam, and only Adam, during Top 3 week, on its cover, with the big old question: “Is Adam Gay?” This was the buzz around Adam Lambert, which meant that the show was invested in creating the spectacle of gayness around him and around the finale. In a lackluster year, what better way to get people interested in your lousy show than to push certain buttons and raise the issue of gay rights, which is very much a hot button issue right now?

All I know is, it’s pretty hard to say for sure that Adam Lambert lost because of homophobia, especially when, personally, I thought Adam left too much room for Kris to look good on the final 2 showdown. Adam could have wiped the floor with Kris, but he didn’t. Did he not want to win? Was he aware of how the gay factor would always cloud his win and how he’s marketed? Did he not want that burden? We won’t really know if homophobia colored the eventual votes. But I have no doubt in my mind that American Idol itself went out of its way to make gayness a gimmick. If anyone should be accused of homophobia, let’s start with the show.

BHG, It is so true, only really watched since season 5, but definetly saw the judges rally for their favorites in each season. This year however, I think they were over the edge with Adam, from when he did Mad World they declared him the winner of the season. I personally think it turned folks off, it surely did me. I did enjoy Adam through the season, but felt my right to choice was gone that the decision had been made. I felt the same way with season’s 5, 6, & 7 they pushed to who they wanted to the point of turning people away from the show. I hope this season coming up the judges do their job and critque performances and not push one over the other.

BHG, Kate and Jon are a couple that have a reality show. They had twin girls then sextuplets. Their marriage is crumbling before folks eyes. He is cheating on her and it is now said she is having an affair with her bodyguard.

Jersey I’m the opposite of you, I only watched part of season 2, season 4, and season 5. I did tune in this year when I had time and watched the videos on Rickey. Season 5 is the only season I cared enough to vote or join a fanbase. I do see them doing the same thing this season as they did in season 5 in regard to decaring Adam the “real winner” of AI and have already started to dismiss Kris. They are determined to choose the winner even if they try to make it look as though it’s America that chooses.

I wish them all well because I know it must be a hard road for all of them. AI and their greed are only about lining their own pockets and will use them up. I am really glad that Taylor is free and on his own. I think going independent is harder in some ways as far as getting the music heard but the freedom that it allows must outweigh the hardship of it.

BHG, Yeah he has been caught with a few woman since January 09 who he calll “friends”. I don’t watch the show, this is just what I have read in People they seem to have an article about them every week. The ones I feel sorry for are the kids, she is so wrapped up in herself, she was pretty mousey looking when the show started then they did a makeover on her, made her a blonde and dresses alot differetn from before.

I’m going to post this here rather than on the Memorial Day thread…News from LOLA…about TAYLOR….

TAYLOR HICKS @ Walmart in Marysville
Well to try and keep Taylors fans Happy I am going to post what was a very brief encounter with him on friday. He was at Walmart in Marysville, and to be honest he looked just plain tired. There was a line almost around the store to see him. I spoke with him very breifly. He did remember me. Said “Hey Lola” and asked if I had been to any of The Grease shows..I told him no..because they were sold out. He said “I have comp tickets” please come out and see the show. So I most likely will. I will be at The Triple door on wednesday night for his SOLD OUT show..and even took the next day off. I met all kinds of wonderful WOLFERS…they started shouting when I showed up..and everyone thought TAYLOR was there! I had to laugh about that.

Taylor it is ALWAYS great to see you…and Wolf fans I LOVE YOU.
