American Idol Vote May Have Been Flawed, according to the google alert I just recieved
‘American Idol’ vote may have been flawed

The New York Times reports that AT&T may have influenced the outcome of American Idol by providing free text-messaging services at parties organized by fans of Kris Allen, who won the competition last week. Representatives of AT&T, a corporate sponsor of the show, reportedly taught Allen fans how to “power text” at the parties, allowing them to send multiple messages with a push of a button. Questions remain as to whether power texting violates American Idol voting rules.
All of the American Idol hype this season is how unbelievable it is that Kris beat Adam in the AI finale. How could have America been so wrong? Adam Lambert was the chosen winner from the beginning and by the look on Simon Cowell’s face he was more than a little irritated that America dared to vote differently than they had been directed to again. There has already been talk in the media about how Adam was the “real” winner. Seriously, I think they could have atleast waited until both of their cd’s drop to give promotion (payola) to Adam while blocking the the promotion of Kris before claiming Adam to be the actual winner. I mean the numbers never lie right? Ofcourse not! I swear these contestants are no more than puppets on a string played with any way American Idol chooses. I believe if there is really a way to power vote then there will be people who know this on every fanbase. I doubt that the few that are using this technique are enough to make that big of a difference. JMHO
I say this with no preference to any of the contestants, my voting days were over when season 5 ended.
BHG, I keep reading that, that the count may have been flawed. Someone said they are investigating, thats just plain crazy. Read a google alert earlier saying maybe the same thing happened with Taylor when he won, the count wasn’t right, don’t think so on that one either. I think folks just got tired of Adam being pushed down their throats and the last couple of weeks voted heavy for Kris.

Hey Girls,
I really think American Idol should just pack it in. I mean come on people!! EXCUSES and BS.
First off, Taylor won American Idol in a landslide victory…it wasn’t even close. Katherine was lovely, talented, had a wonderful voice, but she made it known she was in it for acting…and that’s what she’s done, GOOD for her! NO one was even close to Taylor and it had nothing to do with faulty whatever. AMERICA LOVED TAYLOR. Contestants in the bottom three more than once were in danger of being booted and we know who got the boot and that was Daughtry. He did not have the fan base to take him to the finals. He is one dimentional and STILL is. He is a mimic and AI needed that type of voice for their “aged” rocker groups on their label. It ain’t hard to figure.
So, to blame this on AT&T of whom puts MAJOR money into American Idol is stupid. They service the public, not just major mega buck machines like the monster American Idol. PEOPLE use AT&T and they have a right to find out how to text. LMAO. This is really silly isn’t it?
Wake up people…Danny losing out cost Adam the crown and add that with the lude video’s of Adam on the Internet was not a good background for IDOL’S IMAGE and just ask IDOL’S SPONSORS…they PAY the bills. That’s the way it is. People refuse to accept what the truth is. Kris was voted the American Idol, good luck to him, because he will need it. FINI.
OK…here she blows!~ The time has arisen sooner than I expected. Not knowing a whole lot about either of the final two…it is happening. The sabatoge. I know people have not agreed or truly did agree with me and some others about the ways of TPTB…but this one takes the cake. Yep…the NICE guy won…right? Well…he will carry around a stigma now…that he did not fairly win and they will promote that creepy looking screaming “OFF KEY” guy that should be a drag queen…and hey…maybe more drag queens need to try out for the show. Bet the audiences would change…LOL! So…bad part? Poor guy Kris and his fans that voted for him…called…AMERICA…well, they will be told that they not only “got it wrong”…but, now that they “did it wrong”. So funny to me, however, do have alot of empathy for the actual winner, Kris…but gee…they are really something…aren’t they?
Yes, BHG…the voting wasn’t gonna happen after what they did to Taylor…ever again…not for me…not in this lifetime. We had a huge impact against TPTB and the AI machine…they just did not realize how LARGE the Soul Patrol was and how pissed we all were. But, now…they might as well take the show off the air. Who the hell would watch the show when they tell the people sitting at home that they have rules as to how they can vote? If they need some kind of system in place, which they said they had a long time ago…then, that’s their problem…people starting texting like madmen…I was one of them. Taylor made my texting bill go sky high…haha…thank goodness my old boss that I worked for part time paid my phone bill. HAHAHAHA! So…now they want to limit how many texts you can send at one time. If those same people had voted for the drag queen then would we be hearing this conspiracy theory from them? HAHAHAHA!
BHG…You need to show that video…you know…the one that looks like he has a sock in it. HAHAHAHA…and keeps fondling himself? Yea, sure, he should have been the winner…GROSE ME OUT!
Morning Girls,
Hey Cbb, had I known you were up and clicking away about ‘drag queens’ I would have called you, LMAO. The thing is, American Idol PIMPED Adam the ENTIRE time, so did the judges, OMG. Especially SIMON. Well, it backfired. VFTW got heavily involved and gave Danny G. a bad name and he got beat out. That left Kris, the little married dude. NO match for the Queen whose name was blazed across the back of that singer on the show one night. Major BIAS.
Texting didn’t do Adam ‘the screamer’ in…it was his BAD image. Which I admit had really not that much to do with his flaunting that he was a major queen. But rather than his uh, bad boy image was ALL over the freakin Internet. Compared to Kris, Adam was like Beelzebub . LMAO.
Anyone who reads this don’t be offended by my comments. I didn’t watch IDOL this season nor any season after Taylor was trashed by Simon Cowell, Simon Fuller, Clive Davis and the entire IDOL machine…and I was right in my feelings about the show. IF my google alerts are any indication, Simon Cowell single handedly caused the major trashing of Taylor’s reputation by Internet Idol blogs, online newspapers and it was a slaughter because it was nothing but one MIMIC comment after another. They all appeared like they were in a canyon and were the echo of Simon freakin Cowell [because that is where they heard those comments] – I think Idol loves this SILLY controversy…. because they had the LOWEST ratings EVAH… IDOL STUNK and everyone knows it. Maybe it would help if SIMON stuck some gum on his face, stopped wearing white undershirts, got some balls and shut the hell up about Taylor, that would be good for starters.
PS:
CBB…LOVE the avi, one of my favorite photos of Taylor, ALL in white with that cold black hair and even a beard. Those muscular legs out in front of him, his broad shoulders and his hands in front..that head cocked to the side…his deliciously dark brows and chocolate color eyes… Oh baby, oh Lawd..Oh heck yeah…..oh yes…ohhhh yes…ohhhhhhhh YES..YES YES!!
Woooooooooo!! Hooooooooooooo!! Just saw this on Taylor’s MYSPACE…OMGGGGGGGGGG. Cbb, get ready baby…LOOK HERE…YAY!!!!! Thank GAWD….Oh my Gawd….I bet our boy will do a shadow in Atlanta. WE LOVE TAYLOR HICKS in Atlanta. Oh yeah baby! HOT DAYEM!!!!!!!!!!

CBB LMAO!! I want to keep this a pg13 blog.
The part that upsets me about it all is that Kris and his fans will and have already started to be the victims of harrassment but TPTB. They will do the same thing to him that they did to Taylor and they have already started to. They are now going to question whether the voting was fair, say that Adam was the true winner, and they will use their power to give Adam more promotion because he is THEIR choice when the whole premise of the show is that it’s America’s choice. I do believe if they continue this they will alienate another group of fans and push their ratings even futher down.
Jeanni and CBB you luck women. You get to see Taylor in Grease!
I missed the cellcert last night since my phone is on the fritz. grrrrr!
Rigged or Not, Idol Still Wild
AT&T insists there was no monkeying with the votes. Fox stands by the results. And now, in the ultimate blow to conspiracy theorists who think Adam Lambert was jobbed, fans have voted with their pocketbooks.
Kris Allen really is the champ.
A week after going head-to-head on the surprising American Idol finale, the two singers’ battle spilled over to the charts, with Allen’s rendition of the Kara DioGuardi-penned victory single “No Boundaries” handily trumping Lambert’s.
Allen’s rendition, one of five songs the newly crowned Idol placed in Billboard’s Hot 100, debuted at No. 11 with 134,000 downloads. Lambert’s version fell short selling 36,000 copies at No. 72.
Lambert charted highest with “Mad World” selling 115,000 digital copies at No. 19. Ironically, both the original version by Tears for Fears and an earlier cover by Gary Jules failed to crack the Hot 100 in their time.
All told, the two had nine songs cracking the charts.
Allen’s other chart entries included “Heartless” (No. 16), “Ain’t No Sunshine” (No. 37), “Apologize” (No. 66) and “Falling Slowly” (No. 94), while Lambert also charted with “A Change Is Gonna Come” (No. 56) and “One” (No. 82).
Though the champ won the singles battle, Lambert won the battle of “Season 8 Performances.” Available exclusively through iTunes, Lambert’s package sold 16,000 copies to Allen’s 10,000, debuting at Nos. 33 and 50 respectively on the Billboard 200.
Remarkably, the nine Hot 100 bows don’t top David Cook’s postwin week in which he set the all-time chart record with 11 debuts, including a No. 3 bow for “Time of My Life.” Season five’s Taylor Hicks still remains the last champ to debut at No. 1 with a victory single.
Fittingly, Cook also cracked the charts this week at No. 24, selling 103,000 downloads of “Permanent,” which he performed on the season finale. All proceeds from the song’s sales benefit the Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure organization.
Past contestants Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, Jordin Sparks and Kellie Pickler also have songs on the chart giving American Idol a total of 18 spots on the Hot 100.
Nevertheless, the week’s big irony is that another Fox series scored the week’s top debut. The Glee cast debuted at No. 4 with a cover of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” that moved 177,000 digital copies. Not only does that top the Idol stars, it even tops the original version, which peaked at No. 9 back in 1981.

Adam Lambert isn’t too hurt that he was slammed by American Idol’s Season 2 finalist, Clay Aiken — who slammed the latest runner-up as “frightening” and apologized one day later.
“I don’t know Clay,” Lambert told Access Hollywood Thursday. “I’m glad he’s getting headlines now though, because he wasn’t before.”
Last week, Aiken took to his official fan site to post that Lambert’s rendition of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire” — in the only episode of the Fox series he watched all season — made his ears bleed.
Look back at the most controversial Idol contestants of all time.
“Contrived, awful, and slightly frightening,” Aiken wrote. “Just not my cup of tea at all.”
A day later, he apologized for his comments: “I do apologize to Adam for my colorful (and negative) choice of words. I hope he can forgive me.”
Lucky for Aiken, Lambert doesn’t seem to mind.
“If he wants to ride my coattails about it, good for him,” Lambert said before giving Aiken a thumbs-up sign.
Check out 20 unforgettable moments from the Idol finale.
The singer also wasn’t too concerned about the reports that AT&T might have swayed the outcome to favor Idol winner Kris Allen.
“There are plenty of standards and practices set up where they make sure that there’s no, foul play,” he said. “And I don’t think it’s a conspiracy. I think people are making a big deal out of nothing. A couple of employees handed out a couple of phones and showed people how to use them. I don’t think that’s a conspiracy of any kind.”

Adam doesn’t think there was an AT &T conspiracy but I get the feeling he’s not a big Clay fan. He is getting a little bit of an overinflated ego here I think.
BHG…
The comments coming from…POOR ADAM? ..hahahahahahahahaha, LMAO. Okay, round three, lets see what CLAY now says, hahahaha. This is WAY funny.
And you are SO right about IDOL and the pimping. OMG. This is going to be a slug fest. The winner that the viewers SELECTED will be diced and sliced by everyone.
IDOL is a USER, they do whatever the hell they want to and get by with it. Speaking of which…WHATEVER HAPPENED TO DAUGHTRY? Only ONE CD in THREE years? HELLO? Haven’t heard of ANY tour, haven’t seen any notice of one. Haven’t seen Daughtry on TV or in interviews or in magazines??? Oh that’s right, he was on American Idol, a fourth place finisher. Where the heck was RUNNER UP Katherine McPhee? HOLY COW.
hahah Jeanni this could get very interesting. I think that this season has more drama than I’ve ever seen. I don’t like the way they are mistreating Kris this year either and it started right away with him. AI is an evil empire.
