To Request or Not To Request That is The Question
Well, here we go again SP. The same ol’ dilemma we had the first time Taylor put a cd out is happening again. Do you remember? Many were told by Taylor to please request his song on the radio when they met him at meet and greets and at the buses after the shows. We the SP, a notedly passionate fanbase, of course went out and did just that, and in true SP manner gave it everything we had. Then the notice came up to stop requesting Taylor’s song except by snail mail. Huh? WTH were they talking about? Why would they ask something so ridiculous of us? Is it true that Taylor himself wanted us to quit calling and requesting, and if so, why had he asked us to? Well, I know that I for one thought maybe we better listen since it was asked by his management, and I didn’t want to cause Taylor any difficulty. Looking back, I’m not so sure that was the right thing to do. As we soon found out, it didn’t get him played any more often. To me all the evidence points to the theory that one doesn’t get played on the radio unless they have the backing of the big labels. This time I won’t use the “p” word because I know by now you all know what I mean. Okay, so none of this has anything to do with what is current, but it appears it is all happening all over again. Today there was a post on the THHQ by Gypsee that stated the following:

Shell, all we can do is respectfully request once or twice a week and if they don’t play it after a few of those, I think I would give it up for fear of getting the opposite result. The once or twice a week is a good rule of thumb and that is what Taylor’s management wishes at this point, to keep the requesting going, but not over do it.
This same type of message was posted about a week ago and soon taken down. I figured it was because it was inaccurate, but then it ends up there again. One of the posters there stated it was because it got too much negative backlash. Of course it did! After what we went through the first time around, we are surely not going to be happy about being told to settle down again since that clearly did not work the first time. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I really want to hear Taylor played on the radio. Where I live, he has NEVER been played except for Do I Make You Proud, and we all know why that one got played, right? I also want to add that the whole statement doesn’t make sense to me. If Taylor is not being played and you request a few times and he’s still not being played I don’t think we should stop for fear the opposite will happen, clearly it’s already not getting played, the opposite of not being played is being played, this is a good thing the way I see it. My point to this entire blog is in my opinion until I hear it directly from Taylor’s mouth I will continue to request using common sense and am hoping the rest of the SP decides for themselves what feels right instead of being led in the wrong direction AGAIN.
BHG, Been discussing this. Makes no sense, at the Triple Door he thanked folks and asked to continue to request. If we stop requesting I would think the stations will think we weren’t that interested in getting him air time. This is my first time actively requesting. I have found the stations that I am calling/e-mailing are not annoyed by my asking for the song to be played. What was explained to me is that Taylor is lokked at as a new artist, they usually start out request only. If the station don’t get the requests his music will not be played. I beleive most in the fan base are using common sense when requesting. I fill out the media base requests every day as many as I can and do it a couple of times a day. The form clearly states up to 5 songs and an hour in between requests. If you are following the rules then there shouldn’t be a problem. I’ve said elsewhere unless I see something from management I will continue to do as I am doing. Every week he seems to getting played on a new station or two so I beleive all of our efforts are paying off. Why would anyone want to abort something that is working, don’t get it.

This is my opinion! I have never ever in my whole life ever heard of a management company, label or artist…or anyone else that has to do with a record being promoted…ever being limited to how many requests can be made.
When Grey Charles said that letter was from Taylor way back about not requesting…it was a lie. It was NOT Taylor. It was from TPTB. They had NO RIGHT to do that. Taylor himself, at the same period of time was telling us at concerts to request and in the next breath, yelling out…”Soul Patrol”…ok? So…this was NOT Taylor’s wishes. He owns his OWN LABEL now. He hired the management company. He makes the rules. Taylor hasn’t said a word. If so…someone show me and prove it.
What I do know is…some people are fanatics. They spam the stations like children…and also have acted disrespectful. The other issues would include calling stations that YOU don’t listen to or are out of your area unless you get them on stream or whatever. So…those people are not us. We are going about this…and we are doing what Taylor asked us to do. We are not actin like dumb bunnies…and we are going to continue to request because that is the only way the stations know that he has fans and that there are people listening to them that want to hear him on the air. Called common sense.
Next…I don’t listen to anything that gypsee says. I don’t listen to Purple. I don’t have to nor will I ever make a decision based on what any of these people that think they have some kind of power or influence…have to say. OK? It goes in one ear and out the other. Of course, I don’t bother reading anything they write. I think if the message went OFF…then, Taylor had it removed. He probably got ticked off. There are still stations that do not support him and will not play him. WE, my sister and I, talked to them in detail. They were anti-Taylor. Some said that they did not even have his first CD and when we asked if they wanted it…and of course, wondering why in the hell they did not have it…they said NO. So, give me an explanation as to why they did not want it when that was their excuse not to play it. I know…common sense folks.
Now…I know many of you…and I know that you have tact…and are intelligent people. Anyone knows that you can harass the stations…and also his enemies can call and harass the stations pretending to be his fans. Right? Well…we just keep doing what we are doing which is what TAYLOR HICKS says to do. REQUEST HIS SONGS TO BE PLAYED.
I don’t take orders from anyone. I’ve seen the made up and manifested stories that these egotistical fruitcakes conjure up. They have to pretend that they “KNOW” something from the inside. I don’t care WHO they think they are…they are NOT Taylor. Period. I am sure that it is frustrating for him to say something and get shot down by his own…and this has got to stop.
If any of those trolls/chrolls or haters are doing this…well, the stations can get them for spamming. I hope they do. Point is…if he is not requested, as stated by BHG…then, how in the hell is he going to get played? Because the station manager dreamed it? Because the President said to? Because Taylor paid them alot of money to play his music? C’mon folks…let’s get real. These folks that run their mouths make NO sense. Also…if anyone calls themselves a Soul Patroller…and does anything to cause him damage…then they are stupid, dumb as dirt, mean, vendictive or just lunatics. You can’t stop people from making asses out of themselves. This is the age of the internet…and some people abuse it.
Sorry…trying to breathe now…phew! Ticks me off that some of these people are still up to their same tricks…on both sides of the coin. The ones running their mouths as if we all fit into a box with a label…and then those that act like fools.
CBB, Exactly, what I have been doing if I find a station that streams on my computer I will become a loyal listener and listen to the station a bit before I request. If he doens’t get requested he is not going to get played period. We are the only ones that can make that happen, I really think everyone is doing a good job, pacing themselves but letting the stations know we want to hear Taylor played.

BTW…I got my paint for my Bedroom. So…I will take a break here and there…and request. I am having to mix two colors. Usually, I hit the nail on the head with the exact color that I need. This one was a tough one. Taupe comes in a zillion colors…I went outside…in the bathoom at Home Depot…inside…took the samples to my car…just tried to get a real idea…but…I thought it was too dark. So…I bought the most beautiful white. I knew that it would mix well with it to tone it down and it gave me the perfect color. SO…now, I have to have an exact potion. Measurements of how much of the white with the taupy brown. So, I am gonna use a huge bucket…and that way, I won’t mess up doing it in two seperate buckets…and get two different colors. I am not faux finishing, so it is getting rolled on. I WAS going to make the walls look like HUGE stones like inside a castle. My bedroom ended up being huge…I have a living room and office in here. So, it is definately big enough…and I have alot of really neat pieces…I have these antique lion heads that hold candles…a man that owns an antique shop in Buckhead, well, I sold his house and he gave them to me. FABULOUS…then, I have mirrored end tables…cabinets beside my bed. Just a real eclectic mix. French lady paintings…lost count on how many…vivid colors. So…I got rid of all my oriental rugs and now I have a clean palate. My drapes are orchid colored silk. My bedspread is orchid leapord/silvery/taupe and this fantastic design on the other side…so, the theme…will be dramatic. I just can’t do what I used to do…that is why I decided not to do the stone. I love dramatic. Shoot! I have 3 columns in my bedroom…and of course, my keyboard. So…I want ambience…and sexy…very feminine.
Anyway…back out of my project stuck in my head…Jersey…I totally agree. Look…we didn’t wake up yesterday. We didn’t fall off a turnip truck. I have 3 college degrees. I have common sense. I am a business woman. I own my own business. I have also been in the music business myself. I was solo. I hung out with celebs…and jammed with some of the best. Friends of mine owned nightclubs where all the bands came back after their concerts. One friend was a promoter and one brought all the bands into town. Another old boyfriend did all the stage setups and lighting. So…I saw all kinds of things and heard all kinds of things…and am still in touch with several. Hey, One is an attorney now…lol. So, ya know…I am not gonna listen to foolishness.
I know there are exceptions on some people and what they do. They have their own category. I don’t fit into it.

CBB, You sound like my hubby with paint. We redid our enclosed porch a few years back and I wanted it a pale peach. The color they mixed was just too red didn’t like it. He went and got white and started to play with it until we finally got the color I was looking for. Took a little time but the outcome was worth it, it so peaceful to sit out there.

Taylor himself OWNS the label. TAYLOR SAID TO REQUEST and all should do it with respect and not spam…TAYLOR DID NOT SAY NOT TO REQUEST. Ok?
No one can answer my question. How can an artist get played without requests? If you want to sit around all day and find polls…and contests…fine..I don’t have time…nor want to. If you want to play games…go to TOSP…that’s all they do there. Of course, they get their info from us…those of us that report things online…they know nothing either. They are sitting on their hands…well, good…let um…all 5 of them. They are the biggest spammers of all. They spam getting money for their website…Click Google or Click here and we get money…omg…please…so, all I am saying is use discretion…Taylor was bashed so much…we need to be classy and also nice…show him the same respect that he has shown us. That’s all and just request or he is NOT gonna be heard.

The peach color is another one that is difficult to get. Sometimes you add black to paint to get a color…Sometimes I add yellow…so, it just depends…If you add the black you get less pastel…and also a grey’d down color. Like all the new greens and blues? They use just a touch of black to get that color. I had to use white because the color was so dark that I bought. I should have known. I always know to go to the lighter shade. 
If yours was too red…yes, white was perfect and even a touch of yellow would have gotten it warmer. All the colors that we enjoyed way back are back in. Oh well…just mixing my own for this job…extra work for me…haha…but, it is perfect when mixed. 
Going back to the paint store? Not on your life.
One more little tidbit…designers/painters use a base color…not white. Most…that do murals or paintings on walls use pink. It makes the other colors look soft. I use a cream color. It seems to soften and give me the look I want. White is too stark. Just in case anyone wanted to know.

CBB, Never joined any paid sites, found all the info I needed from the blogs and boards. I had read so much negative stuff about HQ and how it was run that I never even ventured there. From what the folks are saying the perks aren’t even worth the the price they pay, just not enough to keep some interested. I know being a member helps him, but I donate to his charities directly, and buy his music, for me that is enough!!!
Hubby is a printer and he knows all about mixing to get the color you want. Sometimes I shake my head when he starts mixing black or red in with the paint, but we usually wind up with really nice colors. My main walls in the house are an off white with a tinge of peach in it, very soft. He doesn’t really enjoy the painting likes the finished product though. We are just talking about repainting all the bedrooms again this summer.

I am a member of the THHQ and honestly I don’t have a probelm with Gypsee but I really wanted to address this topic because it’s the second time we’ve been told this..as I said in my blog entry. I have never been a close part of any other fanbase but I am a member of a couple of them casually and I have not been told not to request any of their songs. It really makes no sense to me. If we stop requesting it will look as though there is no interest in the song and it definately won’t be played. I think we’ve been playing it too safe.
They just revamped the THHQ and made it different. I’m not sure yet if it will be an improvement or not, we’ll see but from what I understand a lot of posts that are in opposition to the idea of continuing to request are being deleted. I don’t get that either.
BHG, Exactly if we stop requesting they will think interest in him and the song have gone away. It would be the worst thing to stop now, I see him be added to playlists which is a good thing, this has been a good effort on the fans part. I say a big round of applause for all that have taken the time to call and do the media base requests it is paying off.

I got banned for 2 days…Purple did not. THAT did it for me…I wrote all of the administrators and the owners and discussed this…and they would not even write me back. I also asked for the proratis share of my money back and they could delete me from their little fansite bullshit. No response. So…then when they wrote me five million times to get me to renew…I blew their doors off…and told them that if they wrote me again…I would sue. I have never been to a colder site in my life. You are critiqued by everything you say…and the shark even told me NOT to talk to Jeanni online. She said that we were not allowed to have a conversation even not personal. I told her to find it in the rules…and of course, she couldn’t find it because it isn’t there. I then told her to stuff it. Kiss my ass. I told her I would do whatever the hell I wanted that I was a paid member. Now…how bout them apples?

I have been told on all the fansites…excluding a very few…Tapp would never say that nor SRQ…but, all the rest…that I could not talk to Jeanni. Who the hell do they think they are?
CBB I can see why you’re upset. It isn’t fair that you can’t talk to Jeanni and you’re right, there should be more freedom there. Gypsee has always been nice to me personally so I have no beef with her in that way but I can see why you won’t go back there I wouldn’t either in your situation.. it should be a little more relaxed there. A site like that one is most likely much harder to monitor than most I think because it brings in many different groups of people that have splintered off so many times but she can go overboard rules and stucture IMO. You have all the different types of SP who have found a site that fits them. The Boogie for example is a good place if you like the “intellectual” talk and they are very good about research and finding information, cellcerts etc.. but no thudding, Tapp’s site is more for those who like to keep things light, TRP is a site where people are supportive to one another and can talk about anything and thudding is allowed and encouraged. Those are the 3 sites I have the most experience with so I can’t speak for the others. I’m probably a member on most of them but I don’t have time to go them all.
I forgot to mention TOSP the place for the whiners and bashers and trolls to feel comfortable. :p
Cbb, Sorry you’ve had such a bad experience, unfortunetley some do. I don’t go far myself, jut a few sites and thats it.

YES…oh, TOSP…such endearing memories. LOL! The official troll patrol. hahahahaha! There are a few that still go there…maybe 2 or 3 that are really good fans…I just don’t understand why. Plenty are still members…including me. They never deleted my act. Is that a riot or what?
My paint came out great…perfect color. Had to use half white and half of the brown. PERFECT. It has a lilac tint and it is a taupe now. *sigh* Mixing it is a pain in the rear. BUT…I love it!

CBB, I’m selfish keep them to myself!!! If you were nearby they certainly would help out, they are both like that. Just the other night a friend of my son’s truck broke down at 2:00 in the morning. Kid didn’t have any money to have it towed, so my son went and got the truck going so he could get it home and will work on it for him this weekend.

Most here don’t know…but, I was on a walker because of the fracture in my spine. It must have been a chronic thing that went to a new level. I think if I do outrageous things again…which none of you would do…stupid…but, that does it. Fortunately, I have a great doc that gave me steroids. I am not back yet…but getting there.

Hey Jeanni, I was wondering where you were. Hopefully having fun and enjoying the summer. I’m doing well but am almost done with my week off of work.
Hey…I heard that the government is going to snatch any good businesses that are going bankrupt. They want TV and radio…especially those with good news stations…and newspapers. This way…they can control what is said.
Boy…moving fast to take over aren’t they? I bought my gun…but, I am going to get several rifles and a shotgun. Loading up on amo. I would get to a point if things really get bad…that I would go to where my green beret is…or my marine…whom both could kill in a second…with their bare hands. Hate to say that…but, this country is scaring me. But…they have plenty of amo. Marine is unbelievable…a black belt too.
I never had sons…and it is a good feeling to know that I have their protection…they can survive no matter the situation.
I heard that the woman that was killed by her husband while deep sea diving? or snorkeling? Not sure…but, the guy got ONE FRIGGIN YEAR IN PRISON. The family is going crazy. I would have stood up had that been one of my daughters and told the judge…”That’s ok your honor…when he gets out of jail…I am gonna blow his brains out…and then I want a year in prison…OK? I think my daughter’s life would be worth one year in jail…for me. Thanks for the one year so I can take his ass out…he doesn’t deserve to live”.
I’m not kidding folks…people go to jail for years and years for drugs…when they need rehab. Then, we have murderers and they get off scott free.

CBB, Isn’t that sad, 1 year for taking a life like that. You are right they throw the book at folks for drugs. One of my son’s childhood friends kind of got off track for awhile, but he got 5 years in state prison for to many driving violations and with the last one they smelt pot in the car. It happend when he was 19 he is going on 23 now, just a sad story. Son said he may get out early like in Nov but he has been in jail going on two years now, for being a kid.

hEY…another break…I smashed my finger…gee. Having a pity party…it is starting to feel better.
But…the drug thing? Listen to this. My youngest daughter was at friends…they had a new arrival…little baby girl and already had two boys. She started early and is a year younger than my daughter…one after the other. YOW! Anyway…they have 8 acres…and have these bonfire parties…so, she went…and said that it always gets in her hair. Hates it. She does not smoke…neither of mine do. I do…maybe it turned them off so bad…anyway…she left. So…in her sportscar which I almost lost control of…she hit these horrid curves…this road is known for wrecks. A huge buck was running in the road as she took the turn…going the speed limit. She swirved to miss because…she knew that in that small car…it could have killed her. Instead…her car flipped at least 3 times…we aren’t sure. It totalled her car. She called me from the ditch…don’t know how she thought to call me as she was in shock. She also called 911. When I got there…two ambulances were there and several cops. A firetruck…and wrecker. This was only 15 minutes from my home. So…as they had her in the ambulance and of course, we don’t want to imagine what was going thru my mind when I saw her car and her in the ambulance…I thought it might have broken her back/neck or that she was near death. So…the cops make me move my car first…I was frantic. Then, this cop stopped me and said he smelled pot. I was about to freak. I told the idiot that she had been to a bonfire party. He wanted to know where it was. ASSHOLE. So, finally I rushed by them to get to her…she was hurt but nothing broken but oh man…badly bruised and she was cut and the windshield broken by her head…concussion…all that. Seatbelt hurt her. Then, I also realized that when I had a wreck, the airbags…which had deployed on her…have gunpowder and stink too…I remembered. They acted like that isn’t so…idiots. SO…they checked her for alcohol and drugs…of course, NOTHING. They thought that maybe someone from the home was smoking pot and that is why she smelled like it. I told them to stick it where the sun don’t shine. They wanted the address. I told them I didn’t know…and told my daughter to say she remembered nothing. Harassment. They are so worried about stupid stuff…and she was proven to be straight as an arrow…she is against pot. Of course, she did not get a ticket. This country’s laws suck. Murder is like 5 years most of the time. What is wrong with this law system? The girl that is in jail waiting trial for killing her little angel daughter…Peterson case…will probably get off. They just found this little 5 year old girl incased in cement…8 miles from her home. The mother had a sex offender that she was dating and told the police that he was like a father to her daughter. It is against the law for them to be around any child. Just insane. Pot should be legal in my opinion. This would get revenue and alot of people suffer from chronic pain…and also, alcohol causes anger and often domestic violence…pot? well…I understand it is a calming thing.
Ok…sorry for another rant.

First I’ve heard about a hurt finger, SORRY. What in the world are you doing girl? Painting what? Did I miss something? AND YES..Those who are innocent are usually victums. Its a debachle when I see criminals who get off, aka OJ Simpson. I think CBB pretty much covered it, so I won’t go on a vent, I’m just very disappointed when this happens in our country. I think you’all would agree?

1. YES, I agree with this posted notice about REQUESTING Taylor’s SINGLE? Okay, WTH was that? Anyone found out the truth yet? Was it or was it not legit?
2. The mess on Grey Charles over requesting Taylor’s single? TERRIBLE. Misleading. FAKE, Fraud. It was from Taylor’s LABEL, which was SONY BMG / ARISTA aka American Idol’s Clive Davis, the guy whose now been demoted, the man who was involved in PAYOLA to DJ’s? The LABEL bosses that cannot CHANGE its stripes? Get it girls? It would have helped had THE LABEL delivered THE SINGLE to the radio stations wouldn’t it…GEEZE…Bunch of &%#*%*$!!!!
3. Taylor has verbally asked his fans, US… to request. If Taylor makes a video and or audio and says not to request his single, then OKAY. Why would you not want your fans to SELL your product for ya? STUPID I would say. Taylor is NOT stupid. The so called notice coming down is very strange. Hm. Was it legit or not? If it was legit, then it stays up, right? Hm?
4. I have NO intention of NOT requesting his single. PERIOD, THE END…DONE…FINI…I will do what I bloody well want to do. There you go, thats where I stand on this confusing issue, which is no issue to me TILL Taylor tells me its an ISSUE. Got that? LOL.

We will be seeing Taylor at the Fox…in his lovely cone…and taking Mother. However, we are leaving her home for the Smith’s deal…she did not get home from her last Smith’s partying until 5am. She hung in there and did not want to leave even then. Whew! She loves Taylor.

Jersey…I am so glad for your daughter. Brains must run in your family. This is awesome. I know everyone is so excited and proud of her. It is such a good thing to hear about young people that have it going on…and will make something out of their lives. It is a rough world out there economically…and even with an education…it is still difficult. Maybe she will follow in your hubby’s footsteps and get into politics. I loved political science. I was an English major…and then, I hit the music major…then Real estate…which even though I did not need it, having gone to college and learning things that I might not use but learned a heck of alot. So…I did something with the Music. I did something with the Real Estate. I want to do something with the English…like start writing. I have a dream. I won’t jinx myself…but, will tell you that I have already started on some things. I also love art…and wish I had gotten a degree in art as well. I did take several courses while in college and it’s hard! I thought art would be easy. NOT! Believe me…the toughest out of all my studies…was music. Just playing music is not what was difficult. I got a scholarship in music.
Should have done more. Hinesight. Gee!
CBB, Thanks, we are very proud of her. She works hard and making the Dean’s List shows that she does. She is my math/science geek both always came very easy to her. She still is leaning towards going into Forensic Science as a researcher specializing in DNA. Whatever her choosen field will be I’m sure she will do well.

When you are on the road and need someone to trust…and that person is a good friend, reliable and available and certainly got paid with perks…sure…he would be the likely candidate to be a companion/body guard/helper…and best of all…someone to joke around with. When I first saw the blog thought it might be going in the direction of something more between Taylor and Bill, but it hasn’t. My brother and his best buddy have been friends since they were 3 they will both be 59 this year. They are like frick and frack, have been through all the bumps in life together, their friendship has outlasted the good and bad times! They truely trust one another and lean on each other for support when needed, isn’t that what a friend is for? I see nothing more than a friendship bond between Taylor and Bill, why imply anthing more.

there were people that made fantasy stories up about Bill and Taylor…X rated. This was of course, on a private fansite then you had to get permission to go into another part of the fansite. I have great friends…some that even if I don’t see them for years…we start right back up where we left off. Close and caring…we hug and would take care of each other if sick…that kind of love. Men…well, they bond. Just like the guys at war…they have to snuggle in the tents…they hate it…but they have to because they have to stay warm…they call it MAN LOVE. hahahahahahaha! Believe me…they grow a bond, not from snuggling…but from their dedication to each other…they save each others lives…and the same with Taylor…I think Bill is a true friend…I don’t know…heck, he did not tell me so…but, actions speak louder than words. Who in the hell would not want to go traveling in the circles to be a companion/body guard/just someone to watch out…or assistant, whatever you want to call it…and see the world…live high…party your bootie off…meet people…well, the list goes on…plus make mula…that’s a real perk. Who wouldn’t? Maybe someone strapped down in a relationship or that has kids? Ok…Bill is free and living his life…and I am sure he appreciates Taylor and vice versa. The pervs that think differently…deserve the nasty minds that obsess their lives. Glad I had a clean one. I never read a word nor ask to go to that adult site and alot of my buddies did. They told me some of the writings were good and tasteful. Just not my style. I stay away from porn or anything like that. DOES NOT TURN ME ON IN THE LEAST…as a matter of fact…it turns me off.

CBB I don’t see why it’s a big deal for guys to be best friends, it it were women no one would think a thing of it. I was a part of the adult room at TMS..never wrote a story but I did read some. Most of them were not for me at all but one writer comes to mind because I always enjoyed her stories they were really the only ones I ever made a point to read. Missing all the conversation…OH YES, loving those Smiths Olde Bar vid’s. believe this or not? You see how close the camera was to Taylor? Well…I was standing THAT close to him. OMG. I was right in front of the stage. Its a room upstairs, with tables lining the wall, there’s a bar up there and also to the right of the stage are more places to sit. I actually stood the entire three hours. I think I might have sat down durikng several breaks. It was the most incrediable thing ever. Taylor got there after the AI concert which was a good 45 minutes away. Smiths is in midtown Atlanta.
CBB is right, things have changed at Smiths in that one can order online now, but they are NOT open on Sunday at all. I am VERY excited about seeing him on that stage again. When he did the shadow tour during the AI tour that year, I have no idea how he did it, because the AI tour was sometimes doubled up and extended because of HIM. I saw two of those, only for Taylor and then saw him at Smiths. I read he’ll also be at WorkPlay in September. So that means GREASE will probably be in B’ham, AL in September. I don’t think that’s been posted yet. Taylor said in an interview that he was going to be in Atlanta. I had hoped so, we love him here. CANNOT WAIT.

That’s what Taylor Hicks plans to do on Sept. 25, when the national tour of “Grease” comes to Birmingham. Hicks, 32, has been starring as Teen Angel in the musical, traveling around the country and booking intimate concert dates in some cities along the way.
“Grease” will set up shop at the BJCC Concert Hall Sept. 22-27, courtesy of Broadway Across America — Birmingham. On the Friday of its run here, Hicks also will perform a 9 p.m. concert at the WorkPlay theater.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the WorkPlay box office (205-380-4082) or Web site. Prices will be $25 in advance, $30 on the day of the show.
Hicks, a Hoover native and former “American Idol” winner, is likely to showcase tunes from his latest CD, “The Distance.” It was released in March and includes the singles “What’s Right Is Right” and “Seven Mile Breakdown.”

CBB I think AI wanted Adam to come out like this. That new female judge said on a talk show he was going to come out I think. This will get people stirred up on both sides of the spectrum. Some will defend some will come out against him and it will make the ratings go up IMO.
The part of it that bothers me the most is where he was admitting to using drugs when he decided to go on AI. I think it’s wrong to promote ILLEGAL drug use in a magazine. I’m not naive enough to think that atleast most of the people who have been on AI have atleast experimented with some different drugs at some point but the blatant in your face talking about it is what bothers me. It’s not good for young people to read that, esp about someone who they look up to.

I saw the article about Adam, got to give him credit he never changed for the cameras while on the show, he never hid who he was or his lifestyle. Anyone watching the show just had to see one performance and would pick up on his gay lifestyle. I’m thinking Idol wouldn’t let him openly admit he was gay during the show. Whatever, he has confirmed what everyone pretty much knew. As long as he is being true to himself I have no problem with anyones lifestyle we all come with different makeup (no pun intended).

Good Grief CBB is she at it again? She threatened me with Taylor’s attorney too and said he was very angry about my blog. She kept pming a friend of mine thinking I am her. I don’t even know her and she doesn’t know me and I have never said anything about her. Sheeesh!
Oh yea…the saga continues. Know what? This person thinks that even if we don’t use her name…that we are not allowed to talk about her. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Sounds familiar? Remember the other one that I got blamed for her confession? Well, there are people that I know…that get feedback info from the top. They know what is said and they know how idiotic they think these lunatics are. Anyone, ANYONE…that would stoop to the levels of calling Taylor’s personal attorney has got a real problem. Not only is it totally disrespectful…but, it is just plain NUTS. Can you imagine the things I could tell his attorney? I know things. I happen to have class and a brain. I would never have a delusional thought in my mind that I had those sorts of rights. Does she think she is working for him? I swear, between those that think they want to be his mother, his girlfriend, his critic, his best friend, his employee…OMG…the list goes on…they need to go get evaluated. I could list some good psychiatrists in their area…they need to get help. If I were Taylor’s attorney…I would just hang up on them. I hope he isn’t being charged for this. The audacity. Rude bitches are gonna do what they think in their own delusional minds…there is no hope for them. Taylor happens to KNOW who is a freak and who is not. I am not a freak. Well…what did I miss? Good Lord!! Cbb, I always said, I like having you in the court room, LOL. Its no fun when someone has a major agenda and if you happen to ask them ONE question, a legit question, they totally freak out. I think this happened recently. Seems like it was on Chill’s blog and Henry was talkin about it? Something was said, just can’t quite recall it.
Quite honestly, I never even think about those people, I try to stay away from them. However, if I do go to a certain forum, and if I comment about some subject or other (NOT what are you having for dinner, LOL) I usually get drilled by red and blue…I try to stay away from several who are part of the red and blue groupies, those who are a bit bright? Or not so bright? LMAO.
The photos of Adam? OMG…I didn’t know he was that skinny? Or was it an earlier photo? He is pretty! I was amused by his comments. One comment that I thought was funny was when he said he was gonna glue rhinestones to his eyelids bitch…cause the voting was OVER. Ahahahahaha.

Hey girls, I haven’t heard from this person lately. Yes she did leave a message here a long time ago telling me she was contacting Taylor’s lawyer about me and she did pm my friend about me but that was a few months back, it has been quiet lately. CBB you are right, it’s great when someone wants to harrass your friends for something that you are doing. I never felt that I did anything that should bother her. I don’t even know her like I said. I think it might have been one of the first blogs that I did here about opportunists, maybe she saw herself in the words but I did not mean anything toward her.
Now JI – I don’t care what anyone does in their private lives, just don’t want to hear about it.
Also didn’t like dragging Kris into it either. Just TMI, and suspected he would be like that, hence definitely not an American Idol, jmho.

As for the crude article and the comments from American Idol runner up, Adam? I agree, his comments were off color and he meant them that way. I guess American Idol is allowing him a non moral clause in his contract with them. They sure never allowed Taylor SQUAT. They not only insulted Taylor personally, but they insuted THE AMERICAN IDOL. Taylor has done his part, they didn’t do theirs.
I have an idea…Play if you want to. OF those this year who have signed with an American Idol LABEL and MANAGEMENT, how long will it take for whatever song they record to hit the TOP FIVE in the charts? How long? Even though AI is made the butt end of jokes in the music industry, its odd how many of the runner ups are in the Top 15 Billboard AC Poll isn’t it? Strange?
How about no massive success in touring, but selling so called millions of records? Hmmm? Even some of the winners songs are OLD and in the TOP 15. OKAY…Gimme your bet. I say a week, two weeks MAX.

The whole Kris thing was so wrong, just like Taylor the votes went in his direction and Adam’s fans creid foul play. I noticed around #6 the audience reaction to Kris was stronger than Adam’s, Adam is talented but alot of flash, I think folks just saw Kris as the natural talent with no props.

Thanks for the Fox vid of Taylor!! I see the topic of Adam and his blunt comments in Rolling Stone among others is being discussed on other blogs too. Figures. I don’t read that magazine. Bores me.
Now we have (according to my google alerts) comparisons of Taylor and Adam? LMAO. What led up to this is one blog discussing her apparent love obbession with a younger man and another blogs topic of younger men and OLDER women. Like that’s news? hahaha.
IF you look to Hollywood for the bit of “older woman, younger man” issue you’ll see quite a few and their relationships have gone on for quite some time. Just for starters, Demi and Aston? Uh yeah. Even though I don’t LIVE in Hollywood, my last serious guy thing was a man 15 years younger than myself, although when I met him, I had no idea. I thought he and I were about the same age, with me younger than him. LOL. We dated two years and he asked me to marry him, he wanted it, I did NOT. While I enjoyed his company, I was not ready for that type of relatinship. Younger men are attracted to me, what can I say? How long has Goldie Hawn been with her babe? Twenty years now? I could name MANY more, but why?
The point I am making is thata certain group of women are placed in a GROUP…. by Taylor Hicks (purported fans) blog owners. What possible difference does it make what the AGE of the fans are for an entertainer / singer / AI winner? Are these TH fans/ women to be shut off from Taylor due to their age? Ahahahahaha. According to certain posters on said blogs, YES, they are to leave the fanbase. LMAO. Also, according to said blog owner, it has SPLIT the fanbase up? AGE? How about NEGATIVE BLOGS like her’s? I think that would pretty much destroy it? WHA?????
What I’ve seen at Taylor’s concerts over the two years he toured was a wide range of ages, both men and women. WHY is it that this is an issue? Taylor IS NOT and I repeat…HE IS NOT a TEENAGER. He is a 33 year old man. He’s in the MIDDLE of the TEENS and THIRTY SOMETHINGS…and yet he has chosen some hip songs, that have the flavor of rock and roll…that appeals to a select group.
I also noticed a certain poster on IAG who continues to comment about YOUNGER fans when I know for fact the woman IS OLDER than the fans she is obbessed with.
Adam on the other hand is gay, he’s blunt, he’s out there and he’s different. He likes it, AI likes it, because AI has been DULL and BORING AFTER TAYLOR HICKS won Season Five. Taylor brought back the life to AI and it LEFT when they shunned him. IT was GONE. Enter Adam.
OF COURSE Adam should do really well, He has the AI label paying his bills and delivering his CD to radio stations and he has 19E spreading their thing around for him. OH YES. I expect to see Adam’s CD single in the TOP five, give it TWO weeks to ZOOM on up, after release.
So the comparison between the two of them is STUPID. Secondly, women DIG Taylor Hicks, no matter WHAT age they are. IF women like his sexy as hell gorgeousness and his talent and yes, his mystery, then okay, do it girls. TAYLOR is himself, he has nothing to prove and if he’s still a mystery to a certain group of women? WHO CARES? SO what if you can’t figure him out? LOL

BHG & Jeanni, Totally agree, age has nothing to do with admiring someone for their musical talents. My Mother-in-law will be 88 in July has lost her sight, but loves listening to music, all types. She has CD’s from the big band era, rock from the 60’s & 70’s. My kids have even given her CD’s of the punk rock bands they like. You walk in her room she has her head phones on and her head is bobbing to the music, she can still appreciate listening to good music. PS she also has all of Taylor’s CD’s and loves his voice!!!
