Taylor Hicks is on the cover of the July issue of Birmingham magazine. Taylor is on their Hot List and looking at this picture I can see how they came to that decision. Dayum!!
The magazine has a very good article inside. I can’t wait to order a copy!

LOVE the photo of Taylor on the Birmingham Magazine cover! OH yes! I did subscribe to it a while back, Taylor was featured more than a few times!
I also saw the magazine at Barnes and Noble book store. You might try them or even calling the Birmingham Magazine for a copy. I think this is fantastic!! I have always been outspoken about Taylor and his fine business sense. I hope this will confirm that, it SHOULD. hahaha. Taylor is savvy, he’s clever and he’s a fine fine fine performer, whose multi-talented. His success has been an ALL AROUND performer and entertainer…THAT is why I find it so idiotic when mmic comments are made that he is not successful (shaking head)..If success were based on JUST CD sales, then what kinda success IS that? When in fact, its plainly clear that radio payola is still going strong, no matter the HUGE fines that SONY (AI Label) paid to the FCC. It’s so apparent that it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to SEE it. LMAO. SO…Taylor has said…HE is in this for the long haul. YOU bet.

Jersey I read the full article, loved it. The way it read is that Taylor fulfilled his contract with AI and was already independent when he did his tours. This could explain why he recieved no payola and was blackballed from the radio.

I subscribed to the magazine before I noticed that you gave me the phone number for the Birmingham Barnes and Noble, but I am not sure that my subsription includes this issue because it says to wait for to six weeks for delivery. Jersey…that was a great article wasn’t it? I loved it too!! Taylor is really making a very positive name for himself in a very special part of the entertainment business. Some fans and of course the foes of Taylors…have NO idea how important THE STAGE is to professional actors and entertainers. THEY ALL SAY that YES, its a very important and specialized professional leap to appear LIVE on stage. Taylor is doing more than getting his feet wet…its making him even more versatile and polished. That’s VERY obvious. I am SO proud of him.

Yes, you’re probably correct about Spitzer, he was the Attorney General when the crack down came. SONY was one of FIVE that were caught.
I think the most unreal thing were the EMAILS which went back and forth between SONY BMG and the RADIO stations. OMG. I have never been so shocked. I mean, these were the REAL emails. Oh sure, some names and etc., were blacked out. Those DJ’s were getting free trips, cars, money, you name it. AND the evidence of these emails is open TO the public, so they could see for themselves! YET…to this day, there are blog topics which deny it existed. It did exist and it STILL does. SO much so that the FCC claimed they were going to call in the FBI. Whether that happened or not, I don’t know. The public can actually correspond and or call the FCC. They LIKE hearing from the public.
That was NOT the first time Clive Davis was caught, he’s been caught and fired from jobs because of his blantant lack of acknowledging, that there are FCC LAWS. He ignored them and most likely still does…IF the Top 20 is any indiction. AI’s TPTB / their record labels like SONY BMG, RCA and etc., have NEVER EVER honored the FCC laws. They are the BIGGEST offenders. Last figure was 12 MILLION in fines, thats a drop in the bucket for what American Idol, their labels and 19 Entertainment make off AI, the contestants and the singing slaves they sign to contracts. IF I know it, then everyone in the business knows it. Grammy Awards? Hahahaha. What a freaking joke. IF any of the AI bunch wins any or anyone else signed with the mega AI labels, depend on it. I can think of only two singers that are worth their salt…and they are BOTH signed with TPTB.

Princesssadie, Constantine really DID say that about TPTB and Taylor. Can’t say for sure when or where, though I believe it was on one of those TV Guide channel AI thingys.
It stuck in my mind because it was a VERY candid remark, it startled me when it was said, because I was surprised anyone with AI affiliation would ever admit to it.

Jeanni I am looking for any new video of Taylor that comes along. I can’t get enough of him. The cool thing about Taylor is that every time he sings a song it is a little different in some way. I just love his originality and look forward to hearing every version of every song I can.

Yep…Taylor loves to change up his style, his songs, he’s really good at it. During his solo tour, three of the concerts were within one week of the other and he changed up the songs constantly. Depends on his mood I think. I love it.
Speaking of drama about a week ago I noticed my cat was pregnant, this is a cat that lives outside..so I brought her in to have her kittens inside and may keep her inside. Anyway her butt started looking funny a couple days ago. I got scared that there is some complication with her pregnancy, she has been whining like nuts. So I took her to the vet today and he did a rectal exam on her..poor baby..only to find she is normal. I guess the kittens are coming down and pushing on her backside and causing pressure down there. He said it could be today or next week, not sure. I hope this goes without a hitch. I love this little girl..she is the sweetest thing and so pretty. I can’t wait to see the kittens, I bet they will be beautiful. Maybe someone out there would like one.

BHG, your cat sounds adorable. I do hope all goes well with her babies! Cbb loves cats, but she has a little dog and I have four dogs myself. Oh dear. Maybe you can go to town and take them in a basket so people will see them, perhaps find them a home? Is it warm up there yet!
Jeanni she seems to be nesting right now. I think maybe tomorrow morning she’ll be a mommy cat. I think I may have found homes for 3 of them..crossing fingers.
BHG, Way back when my kids were little, daughter had broken her arm and had to have surgery we got her a kitten when she came home. They both always asked alot of questions about kittens so without telling hubby I didn’t get her fixed figured I’d let her have a litter then get her fixed. She found a box in the garage, hubby was getting something and heard these little cries went looking and found her and her 3 babies. They were so cute!! After his intital aanger at me for doing it he fell in love with them also. We kept one and found homes for the other two. It was a great experience for the kids they still talk about it today. The mommy cat passed last year, the one we kept is gong to the vet tonight he keeps getting re-occuring colds, we get him clear for about 4 months then the congestion comes back, he is still the sweetest cat, very friendly, don’t sit down or he will find his place on your lap!!

Awww Jersey that’s a cute story..and you still have one of them. So cool. I have 2 cats inside that I’ve had for years, this is the outside cat. I want to bring her in too, she is such a sweetie and so tiny which is why I’m so worried.
She’s back to her old self again today. No kittens..wth? I want this over, I am worried about it not going right.

BHG, Daughter just checked for me we get nbc NY I can get fox NY and Philly but nbc philly is blocked for us. I will checked for a video tomorrow.
We have a cat that just showed up on my deck 4 years ago. Couldn’t get him to the vet. Our vet is a farm vet so he comes out to the house to check him out and give him shots. This winter was the first he finally came in the house, now when it rains and he wants to go out I open the door he puts his paw out and says I don’t do that anymore!!!

Jersey I have 31/2 cats outside (one comes and goes) and 2 inside. I have brought the little girl in a few times and she loves it. She would love to be an inside/outside cat. I think that is what I will do with her after she has these kittens. It’s cute that your cat puts his paw up and says no..LOL
Are you going to any shows in Philly?
BHG, Yes hubby me and my daughter are going Sunday the 12th for the afternoon show. I was disappointed he wasn’t having a shadow date but am happy to be going to see him. Hubby said the other night he might just go have a few beers for Taylor and pick us up after the show, I said no way, you get in a bar you’ll find a stool then everyone will know your name your coming to the show!!!! He said how big of a part does he have, I said about 5 minutes and then he does his single at the end, he just shook his head and said if it makes you happy we go!
Just got back from the vet with the kitty we kept from the littler he keeps getting colds, Dr said he has a cronic sinus infection that will keep flaring up, this is the third time since Oct we’ve had him back. Gave him a shot with some b-12 in it and antibiotics he already sounds better. We start the pills tomorrow.

Taylor was on Good Day this morning in Philly. Here is the video incase you missed it. He does a great acoustic version of 7MB and meets Billy Jean King. Taylor said he was nervous to meet her..so maybe he understands how we feel when we meet him. LOL..and a perfect gentleman as always.

Just listened to a interview with Taylor on 92.5 Philly, they liked him and the song which they played while he was on. The female DJ said she could never date a guy like Taylor he had better shoes then her. He said he buys pants and shirts in TJ Max but goes all out for his shoes and boots. They said they will put up pics of the boots and him later, i’ll bring them over when they put them up!!

I know when mine had hers she just disappeared found a box and had her babies. They were so cute, one night when they just started to walk we had them on the kitchen table, hubby had a dish of ice cream the bowl was bigger then them but all three made their way over and enjoyed their first dish of ice crream!!!

Just got back from Grease a bit ago. The show was great Taylor was fantastic. Got to meet him after the show, he held my hand for a bit. His people were trying to rush him but he just took his time with everyone. He was so sweet!!!!

BHG, Yeah he took my hand and we talked for a little. the pics didn’t turn out so well, but my daughter is going to try and enhance them a little. when she gets them loaded I’ll send you an e-mail. He thanked me for coming to the show and the support, told him how much joy his music brings me and wished him well in all he does. He was just so sweet.
Told the folks at Chill’s there was a little boy about 12 who had liked Taylor on Idol and came to see the show. He wanted his autograph so his Mom told him to get his playbill signed. The usher said Taylor is only signing CD’s and posters, told the woman the CD’s were $20.00 she told the kid she wouldn’t pay $20 bucks for an autograph the little boy begged still said no, so I handed him a $20 to go get one, she made him give it back. Hubby saw what was going on and went and bought another CD the boys name was Bobby so I had Taylor sign both. We went outside and found him, his Mom wasn’t near by and gave him the CD with his named signed by Taylor. He thanked and hugged us both and quickly put the CD in his backpack. We both felt bad his Mom just didn’t see that getting the CD signed was part of the experience, his smile made the CD worth a whole lot more than the 20 bucks it cost.

Oh, PS glad that you had a great time at the show! I was wondering was there an after concert when you went, I am starting to think that he only signs autographes when there isn’t a shadow tour, because I went to see Grease in San Franciso and I was lucky enough to get tickets to the after concert that same night but Taylor took off right after the curtain call he didn’t sing at the end at all. So I think that when there is not after concert he stays longer at the theater which makes more sense Duh LOL. But on the other hand, Grease is coming to Buffalo and I live in Niagara Falls and I was trying to talk to my sister to go see and she said that my niece wants to see the play so I figured more the merrier, but Lauren (my niece) is only 19 and will be 20 when the play is up here, and the after concerts are in nightclubs and the last ticket I had said 21 and up so I was hoping to see the after concert but we won’t be able to because Lauren is under age, but than if I miss the concert at least hopeully hell will be out signing autographes at the end of the play.
How wonderful that the 12 year old got the CD Jersey! Very generous of you and so sorry his Mom was too proud to let her son get the autograph for himself. But loved that you provided him with a treasured memory!
Nancy, No there was no shadow date he had another show yesterday evening. He really took his time with everyone, his people were trying to rush him but he just chatted a bit and was very friendly. I’m sure your niece will love the show. My husband was a bit heistant but really enjoyed the show and him singing SMB. It was just such a nice day for all of us!

Nancy, I would check with the venue – agree with BHG – since she’ll be accompanied by her mother and her aunt – could be they’ll give her a wrist band for no alcohol – and let her in. Hope so!
Thank’s for the advice, of checking with the venue, I didn’t know about the arm band thing. I hope that we can go to the after concert, I just hope that Buffalo doesn’t get any bad snow storms in March sometimes it gets pretty bad there in March and no one wants to drive to Buffalo, the Niagara Falls High school sometimes charters trips to Shea’s in Buffalo and we went to see the Phantom of the Opera through that and my sister was checking to see if they are going to Grease, the school page didn’t have it listed yet the only problem is and my sister reminded me too, is if we go with the school we have to leave with them on the charted school bus, if someone drives we won’t have to and I am not the best driver LOL and if it is really bad she said that she wont drive LOL
Nancy, Ny son took my daughter to a concert where alcohol was served she was 17 at the time, they just gave her a different colored wristband, I would check it out.
